Jinxie jumped out of her dorm window with a huff. Thankfully her dorm wasn't too high up, it was only on the second floor. She had given up using her door since the altercation that happened a few weeks ago. Being slammed by a door was one thing, but almost dying from having it close with you in the middle multiple times in a row was another. Thankfully, she and the student responsible for it had sorted out their differences, but she was still wary of that door.
She walked on, trying to find something to be able to use her magic on. There were no people to be seen around her, only the wildlife and the cobblestones.
She was at the edge of the forest when she heard it, a loud scream and then the scattering of birds. She ran towards the sound and found a fawn being tackled by a large black mass. the best way she could describe the beast she saw was that it looked like a slimy golem with white glowing eyes. Before she could do anything though, the creature dug into the fawn, spilling bright red blood all over.
With a look of horror on her face, Jinxie realized moments afterwards what she was supposed to do. She held on to the green stone in her pocket and rubbed her finger over the sharp points of it. Reciting the spell in her head multiple times, she felt a warmth in her chest and then saw a glow resonate from her pants.

She opened her eyes to see herself in a cobblestone path not far from her dorms. "what am I doing here?" She blinked a few times, unsure of why she was there. She looked down at the ground and then clenched her fists a few times. Then she heard the yell. She looked up to see birds scatter, leaving leaves floating through the air. She ran into the forest to find a fawn being attacked by a black beast. It looked as if it had come from the depths of the undead. Jinxie reached her hand out to create a fireball, but she was already too late. The thing dug into the defenseless fawn, spattering blood about. Jinxie streaked and reached into her pocket for the stone, but before reciting the spell, she was hit with a vision of the same thing happening before. She quickly pulled out a pen from her other pocket and wrote: FAWN HUNTED. SAVE. She then quickly recited the spell with her eyes closed.

Jinxie opened her eyes and found herself on a cobblestone path not far from her dorms. She was confused and her nose was bleeding. She reached her hand up to wipe the blood away, but instead found some writing. FAWN HUNTED. SAVE. Suddenly, small glimpses of what was about to happen- or has happened already started flashing in her brain.
She then heard the yell coming from the forest, but before the birds could scatter, she took off, readying a balls of fire in her palms. As she reached the fawn being overtaken by the beast, she threw the fire ball and then hit him with a stream of blue fire. The thing screeched in pain and then ran off.
Jinxie ran to the fawn seeing if it was hurt, but before she could get to it, it disappeared and had a partly clothed woman appear in its place. Jinxie looked up and down at her for a moment, until a sense of familiarity washed over her. She had saved this woman once before, but she looked much older this time.
"Sif." She gave her a smile. "We keep on meeting like this."
"Lady Jinxie, I hope you are faring well." She bowed her head. "I wish we wouldn't have to keep meeting in these precarious situations..."
"You just can't stay away from me, can ya?" She winked and then chuckled.
Sif smiled and patted herself down. "Guess not."
"Are you alright?"
"Oh yes, fine thanks to you."
"Why do I always got to save you? For once I'd like to not have to battle a big ugly beast just to see you." She grinned."What's the deal with that thing anyways?"
"Oh it's nothing. Just an Into lokufa." She shrugs.
"An into lo- what?"
"Lokufa. In your language it is the thing of death. It has been hunting me ever since I have arrived on this plane. I have managed to avoid so far, but it has gotten persistent." She noticed the blood from Jinxie's nose. "A-are you ok?"
Jinxie reached up to her nose to wipe it off, forgetting that she was bleeding. "Oh this? Yeah it's nothing." A sullen look rested on Jinxie's face. "You would have died, you know. I had to travel back through time just to save you."
Sif looked as if she was processing what Jinxie had just said. "Well for that I...th-thank you. I do then owe you my life, dear. I'm afraid that just one favor isn't going to cut it then." She  held out her hand for Jinxie. "You still have the yomshayeli I gave you?"
she took her hand. "Yomshaylli?"
"The Conch."
Jinxie nodded her head. "Oh yes, of course."
"Whenever you need me, just call. But please don't over do it, I would hate to travel back and forth through worlds so many times."
"what do you mean? Don't you live here?"
Sif shook her head with a bittersweet smile. "I'm afraid my stay here is long overdue. I should be moving on to other lands, finding some people."
"Well goodbye then, I guess..." She clenched Sif's shoulder awkwardly.
"Your mother would have been proud." She turned away, about to head off.
"wait! You knew my mother?"
Sif looked back and nodded. "You remind me so much of m-her. You even have the same feisty spirit as her."
Jinxie looked down, and her tone lowered a bit. "Is she...dead?"
Sif chuckled. "Oh non no! heavens no! Just stuck. That's all."
"So she's alive!" A large smile appeared on Jinxie's face."Wait...are you my-?"
Sif burst out laughing. "Gods no! for I am just an intombi yehlathi, I am no carbuncle."
"Oh. sorry."
"Honest to gods mistake. I understand. You don't know anything about her, do you?"
Jinxie shook her head. "Dad doesn't even have a clue to who she might be. He says that he doesn't even remember most of senior, it's all just black spots and pain."
"Well I can't tell you much, until it is safe for me to do so, but I can tell you that she is a carbuncle."
Jinxie tilted her head. "But I thought they were all dead. Me and my father excluded."
"Hm, well no. Seven remain. Your father, his twos siblings, you, your mother, and another two ."
"Does dad know?"
"Well he certainly knows about his brother and sister. He was granted a vision long ago that he choose to ignore."
"Figures." Jinxie scoffed.
"i can't tell you anymore than that until I know that it is safe. I'm sorry."
Jinxie grabbed her arm. "But you can't just leave me with that! I need to learn more!"
Sif shook her head. "I'm sorry, but I must be off. I need to go and save her." And with that, Sif pulled away and quickly transformed into a fawn, running off before Jinxie could have a chance to say anything more.
Jinxie frowned and approached a tree, she raised her fist and punched it as hard as she could, leaving a charred crater in the bark. She walked back to her dorm with a tear running down her cheek.
